SCULPTURAL WORK
Beyond functional design lies pure sculptural exploration. These works are one-off artistic statements -garden sculptures, architectural installations, stave art, 2D and 3D work. Working with the historic raw materials these pieces are created to provoke thought, challenge form, and serve as striking centrepieces within private collections, homes, and landscapes.

Wave Barrel
Inspired by the power, movement and rhythm of the Dorset coastline, the Wave Barrel is a one-of-a-kind sculptural artwork crafted from reclaimed oak barrel staves. The piece transforms historic timber into a flowing, wave-like form, capturing a sense of motion despite being carved from one of nature's most enduring materials. Balancing strength and fluidity, the sculpture celebrates both the heritage of the oak and the ever-changing energy of the sea. Designed as a striking statement piece for gardens, landscapes, galleries, and private collections, the Wave Barrel stands as a unique example of craftsmanship, artistic vision, and coastal inspiration.
As a unique original artwork, each sculptural piece is individually created and priced according to scale, complexity, and finish.
The Peacock Tile
This original tile artwork forms part of Jonathan's wider sculptural practice, exploring colour, texture and handcrafted design. Created as a one-off artistic piece, it reflects his interest in transforming traditional materials into distinctive works of art. Presented alongside his sculptural barrel work, the piece embodies the creative experimentation and craftsmanship that sit at the heart of S'Oak Artisan Studios.
Barrel Bath
The Barrel Bath is a striking sculptural piece that combines traditional cooperage with bespoke craftsmanship. Created from a reclaimed Hogshead barrel and complemented by a substantial, stable step crafted from a larger Sherry barrel, the bath is designed to be both visually impressive and practical. A bespoke copper and brass plumbing system allows it to operate either on a circulation loop with a compatible chiller unit (not supplied) or via a simple cold-water hose connection, offering flexibility for a variety of outdoor settings. Featuring an overhead shower, elegant brass fittings, and a brass pop-up waste, the Barrel Bath transforms historic oak into a unique luxury experience, equally at home as a functional feature or a statement artwork within a garden, landscape, or private retreat.
